JAPANESE WILLING TO INVEST IN TURKEY

Turkey and Japan have been developing their relationship since the Ottoman era. They have been in cooperation especially in recent years. Turkey progressed a lot in the past decade. Japanese companies are willing to form partnerships in the country and showed increasing interest in investing.

The reason for this, Turkey is not only important in terms of domestic consumption and trade potential, but also is likely to be the center of regional trade. This might lead to increasing property sales in Turkey.

Recently, the two countries started working on a bilateral economic cooperation agreement that is still being negotiated. Japanese companies are reportedly looking forward to the completion of this agreement between the two countries.

According to a senior official from Japan, three main reasons behind the interest of the business world in Turkey.

These are;
– Turkey’s population is over 83 million and the majority are young and this means high consumption potential.
– The two countries have reasons to sympathize with each other, resulting from historical relations.
– The third and most important point, because the connection between Middle Eastern and African countries and the Central Asian countries and European countries is the geographical location of Turkey.

In fact, Turkey has a great potential of the domestic market, but also in Europe, Africa, Central Asia. This can serve as a gateway for relations and deals with the other countries.

Authorities should strengthen the relations between the two countries. Because Turkey and Japan have unique advantages and should merge their capabilities.

Consequently, further progress should be expected if both countries can combine their positive aspects; This provides the technology and investment potential of Japan, combined with Turkey’s historical experience and production potential characteristics and geographical advantages.
